Today we are reviewing the Contixo F24 Pro drone – a passable and affordable drone that is a good choice for beginners that don’t put too much weight on good video recordings.
Bottom Line Up Front – BLUF
I would recommend the Contixo f24 Pro to anyone on a budget, purchase an extra battery and you have about an hour of flying time. It’s packed with some great features that the more expensive drones have. For around 300 bucks you can’t complain, takes decent pictures and video.
On the downside, it has no gimbal = shaky footage. It is a fun drone but if good video is what you’re after, pass on this one. The lens on the camera has a really bad fisheye and the video transmission isn’t very long. This is a great drone as long as you keep it in your line of sight.
Hello, in this article, I will introduce you to the Contixo F24 Pro 2.7K camera drone.
Contixo is relatively new in the world of consumer drones, they have not made many drones but they are being well received as is the case with the Contixo F24 Pro.
As I’ve said many times in my other reviews, we’re spoilt for choice when it comes to high quality, low-cost drones, and although the Contixo F24 Pro is a somewhat at the top of the low-cost drone market, as you’ll see in this review, it’s a really good drone.
Now, before I continue this review, I have to tell you something, if you go to the product page on Amazon, the title will indicate that this is a 4K UAV. Although this is technically correct, most people will think that this means that the drone can record 4K video, but in fact, it’s about the resolution of the image. It’s a bit misleading and I’ve seen other drone companies do the same.
This is really not necessary, because even with a 2.7K camera, the video quality is quite good.
Now, let’s go into deeper waters and examine this Contixo F24 bird in more details.

Flight Time
The flight time of Contixo F24 Pri is 30 minutes which is considerably well for how long it takes to charge – 5 hours compared to other drones. I would recommend buying two batteries which will grant you a whole hour of flight time, an exceptional achievement for a low cost drone like this.
Camera
The camera is decent! And its adjustable from the controller (up and down) to make sure you get the shots you want. I love the feature where it automatically puts a little dot over the sun so it doesn’t wreck the shot. Being able to watch from a cellphone or iPad is awesome too!
The quality of camera/video quality is crisp and clear and the viewing area can be manually adjusted from the remote controller. The video is very good, with the raw video contained on microSD card and a compressed version sent to the phone via WiFi. It would be nice to have stabilization on the camera however. That is the biggest drawback.
You will have a 1080P HD video camera, which is sufficient.
You can also use this drone to enjoy the first person view. If this is your first drone, be aware that first person view is where you can see what the drone can see, just like you would if you were in the drone. To enjoy real-time video transmission, you need to connect your phone to the remote control. With no obstacles in the drone’s path, you can enjoy real-time video transmission up to 3600 feet distance.
You can store the images you capture in your smartphone, or you can buy an SD card because the drone is equipped with a lock.
Another feature that goes along with the camera is the “Hand Gesture” or “selfie” mode. Just use the drone in a well-lit area, then wave to the camera and it will take a picture of you. With the Contixo application, you can share your photos and videos directly with your family and friends on social media.
Battery
Contixo F24 has an incredible 7.4V 2500mAh Li-Po battery, which gives the drone about 30 minutes of flight time per charge. The battery used by the Contixo F24 is double that of the Contixo F22. This puts the Contixo F24 UAV ahead of its competitors, notably in the top 10 of the best drones under $300.
Controller
Controller is very responsive. The controls are intuitive and its design is similar to the one of Mavic Air. The remote has a button to auto-land and another one to return to its takeoff location, which helps a ton while learning to fly it. I would say that the phone holder could be more generous. 6″ phones WITHOUT a case may fit. If you have a beefy case even on a 5.5″ – good luck.
App
The app is feature rich. However, the app on the Google Play Store is not the most updated version. I had some issue with using the waypoint function, so I reached out to Contixo and they provided me a link to the updated android app. Everything seems to be working, but I still don’t understand why it’s not in the play store.
The drone would be amazing if the app was more up-to-date and controlled the way it’s advertised. The drone will not launch or land from the app, perform the gesture controls, or follow properly…. however it does stream to the app, record, take pictures, and everything else.
Build Quality and Design
First of all, I really like that this drone comes with a nice case. Everything has a place and it even includes extra props. I also like that both the battery and controller both charge with the same mini USB cable. Much quieter than I thought it would be too.
It comes with a very well protected case so it won’t get damaged when storing or traveling with.
The Contixo F24 Pro gives a feeling of power and strength from the very first impression. When I first saw it, it immediately reminded me of two of my favorite drones, the Mavic 2 Pro and the HolyStone HS 270.
It’s a portable, foldable drone that I can take with me almost anywhere.
Moreover, the drone is made out of a very durable alloy and it is surprisingly stable in weak to moderate winds.
I really liked the fact that Contixo designed a drone for the first time in flight. The foldable motor arms protect the vulnerable internal components and the camera remains hidden under a protective cover so that it will last for years.
Range
It states 1200m range which may be, however you lose video on a Samsung 10+ after about 500 meters so just limited the range which is an awesome feature to keep kids out of trouble.
Flight performance
When it comes to performance, you’d be surprised how well the Contixo F24 performs compared to the rest of the under $300 quads. As I said before, this UAV has a fairly high wind resistance because it’s made of a metal alloy. Several important factors influence the performance of this bird. The first and most remarkable is its brushless motors. It generates no friction, which translates into a higher RPM (Rotation Per Minute) for a higher maximum speed.
GPS/GLONASS modules
Most drones need to be calibrated and have GPS established each time they boot up. This model makes that process very easy and the procedure is easy to remember.
The Contixo F24 UAV is also equipped with a 9-axis gyroscope that keeps the drone stable for maximum aerial maneuverability. The third factor is the inclusion of an intelligent flight battery. Its modular design allows better power supply for more efficient performance.
As you have probably already noticed, the Contixo F24 UAV is equipped with foldable propellers. This is a technology was originally introduced on the popular Mavic Pro UAV to target beginners and travelers who wanted a compact quadcopter.
Conclusion
Excellent drone for the money. Best about it is its flight time and stability in the air – camera is a bit lacking, but still excellent for the price tag. Definitely one of the top drones you can buy for a new pilot where he can learn a lot and still experience almost all features that top-shelf drones like Mavic 2 Pro, Autel Evo 2 or Mavic Air offer.
Contixo F24 Pro
I would recommend the Contixo f24 Pro to anyone on a budget, purchase an extra battery and you have about an hour of flying time. It's packed with some great features that the more expensive drones have. For around 300 bucks you can't complain, takes decent pictures and video.
