The DJI Spark is a palm-size gesture-controlled selfie drone for the masses. It weighs about 300 grams and measures 142 x 142 x 56 mm. This drone takes off from the pilot’s hand and automatically enters “Gesture Mode”. This lets pilots send it into the air and capture a video with pre-defined flight paths, like following, circling, or filming from straight up.

This drone is powered by 1480 mAh 11.4 V Li-Po 3S battery that will give you flight times of about 15 minutes. It takes about 52 minutes to recharge the flight battery.

DJI’s Spark features obstacle avoidance and gesture recognition technology, so it’s not an exaggeration to say that it is probably the most user-friendly drone currently available on the market. The Spark also features four Intelligent Flight Modes that are similar to those already available with more professional DJI drones.

The camera sports a 1/2.3-inch CMOS image sensor, and the lens is a fixed 25mm f/2.6 equivalent, capable of taking 12MP still images and 1080p video at 30fps and 24Mbps.

The Spark is really stable and it hovers in place with ease, even indoors without the help of GPS stabilization. The DJI Phantom 4 was launched in March 2016, and features a sleek new design with magnesium unibody construction, a two-point-of-contact gimbal mount, dynamic range enhancing video modes,  obstacle avoidance sensor and more.
